In light of deliberations of The Committee on Increasing Competitiveness in the Economy, which is examining, among other issues, the possibility of separating the credit companies from the banks, the Banking Supervision Department at The Bank of Israel has published drafts regarding updates facilitating the criteria and general conditions required from those seeking permits to control or hold a controlling share of a clearing company. These drafts determine, among other things, to hold a controlling share of a clearing company, directly or indirectly, via corporations that had previously been prohibited from being part of the “chain of control” (Hebrew):
